NIGERIA OVERTAKE HOSTS, MOROCCO ON AFRICAN GAMES’ MEDALS TABLE

The graph is further looking upwards for Team Nigeria as the 12th African Games reach a crescendo. After the end of competition on Wednesday, Nigeria won more medals and climbed from fourth position of Tuesday to third position.
In the process, hosts, Morocco were pushed down the ladder as Nigeria look set to overtake South Africa in the second position when competition resumes on Thursday.
Team Nigeria which won three gold medals from athletics on Wednesday, look set for a gold rush on Thursday as six gold medals will be at stake in wrestling, a traditional strong hold of Nigeria as well as nine other medals to be won in weightlifting, five in badminton and a certain medal in women’s football.read more
